Karen E. Andrews, Esq. Ms. Andrews is EVP, Chief of Staff and General Counsel for the March of Dimes and co-founder and Board member of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the largest funder of myeloma research. She has served in General Counsel and Business Affairs leadership roles for BBDO Worldwide and Time Inc. and began her career as a litigation associate for Weil, Gotshal and Manges. Ms. Andrews will also serve as Board Secretary.
Paul Feldstein, PhD Dr. Feldstein is Professor, Emeritus and Robert Gumbiner Chair in Health Care Management at the Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine since 1987. Previously, he was professor of Economics and Public Health at University of Michigan, and Director of the Division of Research at the American Hospital Association. Professor Feldstein received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has written seven books and over 70 articles, including Health Care Economics, in its 7th edition. He has been a consultant to many government and private health agencies, an expert witness on health anti-trust issues, including the case of the FTC v. The AMA, which was decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as having served as a member of the board of directors of several large health care firms, such as Sutter Health and Odyssey Healthcare.
Tom Kalchik Mr. Kalchik is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mothers Milk Cooperative, Tom was instrumental in the creation of the first and only cooperative of breastfeeding mothers in the world. With 3,000 members the Mother's Milk Cooperative is the sole supplier to Medolac. He recently retired as program director at Michigan State University Product Center and has 25 years of experience in food processing and cooperative product development.
Doug Neugold Mr. Neugold has served as the Chief Executive Officer of ATMI Inc. from January 01, 2022 and as its President since May 2000. He served as Chairman of the Board of ATMI Inc. from January 1, 2022 until the publicly traded company was sold to Entegris for $1.15 billion. He joined ATMI as Vice President of the NovaSource division in January 1998, and served as President of that division since July 1998. Prior to ATMI, Mr. Neugold served in variety of Executive and Managerial Positions with the Electronic Materials Division of Johnson Matthey. Mr. Neugold has a BSc degree from Clarkson University.
Alan Spitzer, MD Dr. Spitzer is a prolific neonatal researcher and academician who served most recently as Senior Vice President and Director of the Center for Research, Education and Quality at Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. (MEDNAX, Inc.), the nation's largest supplier of neonatal care services, overseeing clinical research as well as continuing medical education and clinical quality initiatives. Dr Spitzer also served as the Chief of the Division of Neonatology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Neonatologist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, as well as Senior Physician of the Division of Neonatology at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania. He is the author of popular neonatal textbooks, including Intensive Care of the Fetus and Newborn and has collaborated on more than 200 peer-reviewed research studies and textbook chapters during his career.
Elena Medo Ms. Medo is the CEO of Medolac, and will continue to chair Medolac's board. Elena has pioneered the nascent field of professionally processed human donor milk for clinical use. Medo founded Medolac Laboratories to increase access to donor milk, especially for babies born in hospitals that traditionally cannot afford to purchase this lifesaving therapy. She supported the founding of the Mother's Milk Cooperative as a way to empower new mothers who otherwise would have to return to work soon after birth, reducing their ability to continue breastfeeding. She developed the Calais Human Milk Analyzer, using midrange infrared spectroscopy to analyze the major nutrients of mothers milk in the neonatal intensive care unit, to form a baseline for fortification. She has an MBA with an emphasis in health care management from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
Doug Hawkins Mr. Hawkins is executive vice president, Medolac, now serving on the board and as its vice-chair. He has held several leadership roles in biopharma, tech and consumer health businesses. As a Pfizer Nutrition Vice President, he successfully led worldwide reputation, external engagement, crisis response, and responsible marketing efforts, creating stakeholder trust and driving competitive advantage ahead of the largest specialty nutrition business transaction ever, at almost $12 Billion in 2012. Mr. Hawkins also has over a decade of multilateral governance experience within the United Nations system (WIPO) and was responsible for numerous successful treaty initiatives. He has served on many industry boards and committees and published on a range of innovation, intellectual property, sustainability and access themes. Mr. Hawkins holds an International Policy MSc degree (1st class commendation) from the University of Bristol.
