At Medolac, one of the first corporate documents we created was our commitment to responsible conduct. Internally, we call it our “Carlsbad Declaration” because we developed it, word for word, over two full days in a hotel conference room in Carlsbad, California. This rather “grown-up” and detailed commitment might seem to be excessive for a small business, but it reflects the essence of who we are, what we do and how we do it. Hardly a day goes by that we do not reference it as we take important business decisions.
